ANOTHER PEEK

Ok, last pics, I swear. Besides, the dang thing goes through
batteries like butter!

The top view is a view from my place. That's the car repair
place next door. There's some sort of old creek bed in the woods
there and it floods up during heavy rainstorms. A few times
it's made it up to the level of the grass and a few feet towards
the apartment building.

The second shot is the entrance to the Hobbit Hole. No, not the
stairs going down into the basement. The first two windows are
in the living room. The third window and a fourth that's not in
the pic are in my bedroom. The metal firedoor is further over to
the right out of the shot as well. The walls are some sort of
wood and not very thick so the winter is a wee bit nippy at
times in here.

Finally, a longer view of the wall in my bedroom where the
computer sits. And where I sit too. Sorry, didn't clean it
up before the shot.

A PEEK INSIDE THE HOBBIT HOLE

Okay, this is more an experiment than anything else.
These are pictures I took with the new digital camera. I needed
to shoot at somethig and I have more books than anything else
around the Hobbit Hole.
The top shot is the walking closet in the living room. I thought
I took a shot of both sides but the right hand one didn't take for
some reason. But trust me, there's another bookcase beside the
one you see there. Left hand case is mostly paperbacks shelved
two deep spine edge out and others laid flat in front. The hidden
case is hardcovers spine side out and other books laid flat in
front.
The other two shots are of the bookcases beside me here by the
computer. The middle shot is the top of the bookcase to my left.
The bottom shot is the bookcase to my right. Note the dinosaur
skeleton windup toy on top.
The batteries on the camera are low so the flash didn't work, so
I fiddled around with the exposure when I uploaded them
to the computer so they look black and white. The doorway
at the edge of the bottom shot is the fire escape door here in
my bedroom.
Somewhere, Diana is busily getting this all down in her Stalker
File on me.

THE NIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS

Well, Christmas is over and calm settles upon the land.

Or at least a reasonable facsimile thereof. More like exhaustion?

I worked at the bookstore from 9 to 6 Christmas Eve and then
went to my sister’s house after a quick stop here at the hobbit
hole to pick up the gifts. The adults all got gift cards and my two
youngest nephews got radio controlled cars and a transformer
type toy each, but my two older nephews had so much fun
assembling them I might have to get them some too next year!

Did I mention here that my nephew Paul and his bride Jen are
going to be parents next June?

My sister and my brother in law Pete gave me a digital camera
and once I get the controls figured out there’ll be more pictures
here.

Dinner was the traditional lasagna, meatballs, and salad with
pastries for dessert and enough other munchies to fill us up and
make me sleepy. So I left at 10:30 for the drive home and
eventually found my way to bed.

Today…well… I think I was more tired than I thought. I slept
into the mid afternoon and woke with a stuffed up nose. There’s
been a cold going around at work, so I decided to just stay in here
today and relax. I have the next two days off from work as well
as part of my usual work schedule so hopefully by Friday I’ll have
licked this. I surfed the web a little to see what I might buy with
the gift cards I got as presents and then did a little genealogy
work, copying some files from my PAF5 file to the Family Tree
Legends file and doing some editing in the process.

And I'm going to be doing some Cams writing as well since I
have the free time!

Anyway, I hope everyone reading this has had a quiet, peaceful
and wonderful holiday!

TOP TEN

Someone on the Cams List asked folks what their Top Ten
Favorite Songs were.

I'm going to really show my age with this.I'm more into Celtic
and folk music these days but these are the songs that either get
me singing along as I drive or maybe a few air guitar riffs from
me (when I'm not in the car, of course!).

Pretty Woman-Roy Orbison
Light My Fire- The Doors
Ride My Seesaw-The Moody Blues
Sympathy for the Devil-Rolling Stones
Green Grass and High Tide-The Outlaws
Still Haven't Found (etc.)-U2
If You Could Read My Mind-Gordon Lightfoot
The Question-The Moody Blues
Living in the Past -Jethro Tull
Running Down a Dream-Tom Petty

In case no one recognizes "The Question" by the Moody Blues
it's the one that starts with "Why do we never get an answer,
when we're knocking at the door?"

I'd add the following if the list were longer:
Ohio-C,S, N, &Y
Southern Cross-C,S &N.
Suzie Q.-Creedence Clearwater Revival
Nights in White Satin-The Moody Blues
Tangled Up in Blue-Bob Dylan

Anywho, that's the list from the Old Fart

BABY IT"S COLD OUTSIDE!

Dang, I hate winter.
I'm into Unibomber Mode again wearing a hooded sweatshirt as
I type away at the kb. I'm going to head off to bed as soon as this
is done bcause not only am I sleepy but the bed is a very nice and
warm place to be.

Other than that, life goes on. The Christmas Horde has descended
upon us and all I can do is wait it out. At home I rp a little, write
a little and do genealogy, which I now seem to do more than the
other two. Rp has slacked off a bit and there's only the same core
group in there every night now.I've come to accept the fact that
many of the others aren't coming back to rp. I'll most likely end
up as the World's Oldest Roleplayer if I don't croak at my
keyboard some night. But I can't and won't just walk away from
Camelot and the others who are still there.

Today I deleted Diana from my "whois" file. When I logged onto
Mirc this afternoon her name popped up and it took me a second
to realize that someone else now uses her nick. I know she'd say
it's about time, too. So I deleted the nick. It's not THE Diana
anymore. Time to move on.

TALKING TURKEY

Thought I'd check in before I hit the hay.

I sent out another part of The Wyld. I'll probably end up with
30 or so stories for the year since I'm already around 24 or 25.
This last one might set up a bit of rp for the channel. Things have
been slow there recently but at least we're still out there.

And there's quite a bit of stuff at the genealogy blog.

Thanksgiving was nice. Fun and relaxing and Cheryl sent me
home with a bunch of leftovers.

Other than that, Black Friday was the usual chaos and so I go off
now to bed to rest before tomorrow/today's inslaught.

NOVEMBER

Well, Fall finally decided it was time to act like it and it's a bit
chilly around here, although not as chilly as it must be up
North in PoD territory.

However, I've got the memories of the Sox winning the World
Series for the second time in my lifetime. Neither of my parents
had that gift and believe me, they would have been thrilled. And
Brady and the Pats look like they're heading back to the Super
Bowl game this year, so that's another good thing.

I'm not into my political mode as yet. Suffice it to say I am just
hoping the present President doesn't get us into any more
problems before he leaves office.

Writing is good. I should have one or two more stories posted by
Sunday. RP ...well..it is what it is. I've come to the decision that
as much as I'd like to hold up a sl long enough so that folks who
are away can take part when they return, I can't do it anymore.
So at least one of my plotlines will wrap up by year's end. We'll
have to come up with reasons why their chars are away but its
got to be done or otherwise we're frozen in place.

Other than that, I'm still breathing and trying to keep my brain
nimble with writing, genealogy research and roleplay.

AT LAST

Run for the hills, the dam's busted!

The Muse finally kicked in. Being on vacation helped a bit,
along with doing some editing on some old stories I posted to the
Cam's list for Halloween. Guess it primed my pump. I've gotten
two The Wyld stories and a two part stand alone on one of my
secondary characters. I've done some stuff for my genealogy
blog as well so it's been a fairly productive three days.

Now I hope I can keep it up, and that maybe there'll be other
stories posted besides mine to the list.

RAINY FRIDAY

I’m still out here.

I’m still in that rut. Somebody who reads this blog suggested
yesterday that I take a break and read a book, and I had to grin
to myself. I read all the time. I’ve been rereading some of my old
favorites in the hopes something will jumpstart my imagination
again but so far no luck.

Despite what it might appear from recent entries, I don’t walk
around all day in a perpetual funk. You can’t work retail if you
are. You put on a smile, get your game face on, go out there and
be a customer service soldier. It’s when I get home here to my
hobbit hole by myself that I sit here and wonder why I feel the
way I have lately.

Of course I could say it’s partly because of how we lost Diana.
I’m pretty sure she’d “pfft” me for that one. Even though she was
ten years younger than me, she was closest to my age out of my
closest online friends and damn, I still miss those late night talks
about anything and everything. But even before her passing there
were times over the years when I’d get into this mood and I’d stay
offline for a few days until I snapped out of it rather than to mope
about online and be a wet blanket.

I don’t know what it is. I just don’t. Maybe it is middle age blahs?
Or at this point, middle aged approaching senior citizen blahs?

TURNING MY WHEELS

I don't know what is my problem lately.

I've been spinning my wheels. I go to work everyday and
just try to get through the day without having to deal with
BM.

I come home at night and there's no desire to log online either
for rp or genealogy. I eat dinner, fall asleep, wake up,
check in on the channel more out of a sense of duty than in
anticipation of any roleplay.

One or two days a week I'll hack out something for the
genealogy blog. Occasionally I turn out a decent post
but most of it feels forced to me.

Then I go to bed, sleep, get up the next morning and
repeat.

There's no spark.

I don't know why.

A PURELY OBLIGATORY POST

Yeah, I'm still here.

Although it's not been a very productive stretch of time. I've done some
posts on the genealogy blog but my writing and rp just have sucked.
Nights like tonight I'd rather be in bed and I fight it because even if
there's nothing going on in the channel I feel it's important I be there.

At least I've taken some steps to ensure the channel hopefully
continues should the time come that I am not there.

Anyway. That's about it for now.

MAGIC, ANYONE?

Well, I finished and posted the Willow's End story. Not an Ashe
and Jera story so much as a flash forward to years in the future
where the Blackthorn children are dealing with Jera's passing.

I hope it was good enough.

My thoughts will be in Lexington Ky around noontime
today although I can't be there with the others from Camelot
and the Keep who will attend.

Life goes on. But damn, I need some magic to get my
writing and rp going again. There are some old reliable books
and albums that usually get me in the right frame. I might turn
to them to get a jumpstart.

Thursday, September 06, 2007

DAMN.

Damn!

I'm still struggling with Ashe and Jera. I had one half written,
then I decided it sucked and deleted it.

I try to write it, then when nothing happens I try the old trick
of stepping away for a few hours. I work on some genealogy
post and go back to the story. Nothing.

I found myself late last night digging through my old stories
on the site Di had my stories on, trying to find something
I'd written about the Sithryn. In the past, I'd mention this
to her and a few moments later she'd tell me what I'd written.

Eventually the site will be gone. I can deal with that.

It's Diana being gone that's the tough part.

Tuesday, September 04, 2007

DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY

I've been trying to write a story about Di's char's Jera's passing.
For various reasons I can't bring myself to write her death, so I
decided to set a story in Camelot's future with the children
reminisicing about their Aunt.

Even that, I am finding very hard to even start.

I'm still angry(at the doctors) and aching.

But I will get it done, somehow, this week.

REALITY

It's a really quiet night tonight online. Of course, I got on late
so the other folks had already gone off to bed.

Nights like this, GQS and I would be sort of kicking back in
her channel, talking about music or tv shows from when we
were kids, or rp, or some genealogy nugget I'd found,
or maybe just trading really bad puns back and forth.

We talked about writing and maybe a new sl for Ashe and
Jera, although the past few years there was the added
phrase of "once this is over and you feel better we'll..".

Well, I'll never write another Ashe and Jera story now.

I take comfort fron the fact that the last time we "spoke"
PoD and I made GQS laugh with some silliness. And that
she had the chance to do a bit of rp in the Tournament
a few weeks before all this last mess, and a bit of rp earlier
this year as well.

I know she would not want to be kept alive indefinitely by
life support. Her views on the Teri Schiavo incident were
very clear on the issue. I am glad she's comfortable
but I also feel for her husband who had to make the
decision. And I know he's doing what GQS would want
done.

So the reality is there will be no more late night
laughs and conversation with my friend.

Bluidy hell, ladybug. I'm really going to miss you.

HELPLESS

That's how I feel. I don't know how else to describe it.

The irony is, the one I'd be hashing how I feel out with
is the one I'm not able to help.

Di's a fighter. I'm not giving up hope yet.

But I do feel helpless.

Thursday, August 09, 2007

HOT AUGUST NIGHT

Yeah, I'm still here.

Been a hell of a month between weddings and stuff, and then
GQS ups and scares the hell out of all of us. Not much to report
on rp or on writing since I've been focusing nergies towards
GQS' recovery. Any other result but that is NOT ACCEPTABLE
so she better just quit fooling around and get better NOW!

Oh yeah. Wedding. That's my nephew Paul and his lovely new
bride, Jen. And the group is my niece and all my nephews:
Paul, his brother Mike and sister Sarah , and my brother's
boys PJ(the older one)and Matt

HAPPY ST. SWITHIN'S DAY!

It's St. Switihin's Day. Over in England they think that whatever
the weather is on St. Swithin's Day will be what they get for the
next forty days:

'St Swithin’s Day, if it does rain
Full forty days, it will remain
St Swithin’s Day, if it be fair
For forty days, t'will rain no more.'

Catchy, eh?

He's also used in a lot of medieval oaths..
"By St. Swithin, I'll use your guts for a bridle" ..and
other such pleasantries.

It's also the Feastdays of St. Felix of Thibiuca and
St. James of Nisibus, but Swithin has better p.r.
and somehow Felix or James just don't make for
manly sounding oaths:

"By St. Felix, I'll use your guts for a er..er...mop!"

See?

Anywho, Happy St Swithin's Day!
Go out there and HUG A SWITHIN!!!

ONE MORE DAY

Damn. Sometimes I wish I was already old enough to retire.

As if I would ever be able to afford not to work at least part time
until I drop, assuming I do make it to be old enough to retire!

Vacations are too short.

I went to Walmart today to use up the last of the giftcards. I
bought a new pair of shoes for the wedding, a pair of black
DrScholls, same brand as my old shoes. They're comfortable
so why change now? I also bought an expandable file case for my
genealogy files, a large lined notebook, a mop, two scrub pads,
handiwipes, one of those sponge glass and cup cleaner thingees.

And a can of Raid Flying Insect Killer.

Aha! You wonder about the list after the notebook?

I have fruit flies. Little buggers apparently came in with the
nectarines I bought earlier in the week and got a day or two
head start on me. They seem to be hanging around the trash
can (which has a cover) and the sink, so tomorrow before I go
to do my laundry I will throw out the old scrub pad, glass sponge
thingie, and handiwipe and make sure all food is inside the fridge
or a cabinet before I spray the Raid.

When I come home I'll put out the new stuff.

Oh..the mop is just because the old one is pretty much at the end
of the road, so I bought a new one to replace that too.

See, and you folks thought I never write much other than on
Cams and rp! Pfffffft!

Speaking of which, Whoever Is In Charge Up There better stop
with all the stuff being thrown at GQS! Enough's enough!

I have spoken!

And now I go sleep. As soon as I hang up my pith helmet
and red cumberbund.

BEDTIME BOOGIE

Ah, the joys of vacation! Stay up to the wee hours of the morning
working on genealogy blogs and writing stories for Cams, then
sleep late into the morning, wake up , shower, eat, and repeat.

I sent off a second Cams story today.er..yesterday, one which
gives some background on the Shadowlord and what he might
really be after. The one I sent earlier this week dealt with the
connected story of the portal in Morgana's tower. I have at least
one, maybe two more to send off to bring that sl up to date with
the rp which happened before the tourney in June. And I still
have that D'eshkar story kicking about. I have two days and I
might just get them all done!

I think I may be on a pace to pass my output from last year. It's
easier to write without all the bs that was flying for a bit at the
old location. Another of the lost oldtimers has wandered back in
and begun rping so we'll see where that leads.

On the rl front, I went and got a haircut today in preparation of
next week's wedding. Paul is getting married! He's a great kid!

Of course, the date is the same as the Harry Potter book release
and BM is not happy. But blood comes first!

Two more days to go and back to the book mines!

Ah well....

Off to bed..

ANOTHER JULY, ANOTHER VACATION

Hmm. Vacation Time!

Not going anywhere because funds are low but I'll survive as I
usually do on stay at home vacations. I plan to do some work on
the genealogy, and a new D'eshkar story sort of popped into my
head during lunch at work today, so I'll try to get that into shape.

Got a miniquest to run Sunday night if enough folks show up and
I have some more Cams stories to post.

Paul's wedding is in two weeks so I best get my haircut now! You'd
have to know a bit of family business about that one!

Some bad memories this time of year but plenty to keep me busy.

CHUGGING ALONG

Wow..another month gone by!

Not much doing around here. I've been researching the
family tree some more and found I had an early Mormon
and a Candian privateer cousins among my ancestors to
go along with the witches and Mayflower passengers. And
I am researching another cousin who was hung in Boston for
burglary not long before the Revolution. I've also found a
few more living cousins from the Ellingwood line.

We just finished up the Summer Tournament in Cams. Not as
many contestants as the big one last year but still went well.
It's been a few years now since there was any arguments over
scores or tactics by the players. Now we can get back to rp
storylines both old and new and I can get back to writing more
about the Shadowlord and those three boys.

Nearly 10 years for me now in Camelot. Nearly 11 years they
tell me since it was first founded on Dalnet. We're still here
and chugging along!

THE LONG WAY AROUND TO BED

Man, I started off to bed a half an hour ago and I’m
still sitting here staring at the screen.

Had a crazy busy day at work today. The weather was
cool and dank, not rainy. Just miserable enough to send
a horde of folks in to buy books or DVDs and we were
down one cashier who called out sick. While we had
several stockers about none of them are cashier trained,
so they pretty much stuck to Info while I ran up to the cash
line when needed.

We had the author William Martin in today to autograph and
talk about his latest book and I missed the talk part because
of the chaos. But I did get a chance to speak with him afterward.
He’s been in the store before and we talked during those visits
and he remembers my name and the conversations, which are
usually about the latest discovery I’ve made in my genealogy
research. So I did get a chance today to tell him about the relative
John Adams defended in a murder trial and he signed a copy of
his book for me.

“To Bill, who’s always full of stories.”

Well, I’m glad he didn’t use another word than stories!

Ok, let’s try this sleeping thing again…

ARRRRRRRRRGH!

Man, I hate when this happens.

Had one of those days at work. A lot of customers and
not enough staff really since they're watching payroll.
I must have been wound up tighter than I thought because
I came home by 8, nuked a dinner, fell asleep right after
eating and woke up nearly 5 hours later as -yech- Conan
O'Brien came on.

I had plans for writing tonight both genealogy wise and
Camelot wise, as well as doing rp. Pffffffffffffffft!

Ah well, at least I woke up and got out the Happy
Birfenday to Ladybug.

Oh, Ladybug! If you're reading this .....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

And now, off to bed I go....

TAKE ONE BLOG AND CALL ME IN THE MORNING

Just a quick one before bed. I sort of got away from
posting as much here as I used to so I'm trying to remedy it.

Finished and posted the second Camelot story of the week. I
hope people liked them. Most of the feedback I get lately is
from ladybug, snooks and the PoD but there's not as much
on the list anymore. Although the "Rumblings" post did get
some come to think of it now.

I also posted a short John Bates story to the old BD board
because I wanted to make an obvious pun on a char name.

Genealogy blog keeps going although I am a bit behind there
too.

And rp is up and down. We had several newcomers arrive the
last week or two and hopefully they'll stick.

And now, to bed.

FIRST KNIGHTS

This is the book that started it all.
I must've been around 8 when my folks bought it for me because
they bought it as the Stop & Shop in Dorchester on Gallivan Blvd.
There were three books, actually. One of the others was “Hans
Brinker and the Silver Skates”. I can’t recall the third one, but
this is the only one of the three I still have some 50 years later.

Its age shows, physically. The binding's loose and frayed and
there’s some red crayon on the cover. Some of the black and white
illustrations inside show where I traced them with a pencil so that
the carbon paper underneath would copy the image to the notebook
paper beneath that.

The first edition was published in 1924 but this one is the third
edition dated 1956, which would confirm the year I think it was
given to me.

From this book, I dove into mythology. The librarian at the
Codman Square Library steered me to the “Age of Chivalry” in
Bulfinch’s Mythology and I devoured the whole book. As I got
older I read any books I could find on ancient and medieval history
and I still have quite a few of them that I’ve bought over the years
within easy reach as I type this. I also have quite a few Arthurian
novels and nonfiction books on the subject. And I've seen nearly
every movie or tv show ever made about Arthur and his knights.

It sparked a lifelong love of history and reading that led me to a
college degree in History and later in life nearly 18 years as a
bookseller. But this was the first. This was the one that got me
hooked on Camelot and history for life!

I wonder how many people’s lives have been shaped by something
they read as a child?

STILL BREATHING

Ok, a quick update before bed.

Cheryl, Phil, my nephew PJ(Phil's boy) and I went to see
Blue Man Group last Sunday and we all enjoyed it.

Work...is work. Most of you who read this know what that
means.

Although I haven't posted here for a bit I've done quite a bit
on my genealogy blog.

Just when I was despairing over the channel, roleplay has
picked up once more. Some new blood has joined some old
to get the pump working. The PoD has turned out over
20 some odd story posts in his sl. I have several stories I need
to get written when I find the energy.

Meanwhile, Ian is hugging trees, rocks, and Tyralor.

That is all. I'm off to bed!

WILL SOMEBODY TELL THOSE DAMN BIRDS TO STOP CHIIRPING????

Yep, still breathing.

Two stories posted to the Cams list since the last entry.
And a bunch of posts ot my genealogy blog.

Other than that, it's April. Some friends are doing
better(Yay! QS!!!)) and others like the Chrisi are
moving up the Worry List.

Gonna try to do more writing today/Sunday and run a
mini Sunday night.

Now, off to the beddery. If the damn birds will just shut
up!!

CHECKING IN BEFORE CHECKING OUT

Yeah, I'm still breathing.

Been awhile since I posted here so I thought I'd
do a quickie before bedtime.

Since last time I posted back in March, three
story posts to list and one that I'm sitting on
because it's a set-up for a miniquest that's been
pushed back a bit. And I've been doing quite a
bit of posting on my genealogy blog.

Rpwise, the cat herd is stampeded all over the place
and either I'm getting slower or older because it's
taking longer to get it rounded back up.

That's it for the old fart.

PFFFFFFFFT!

You Are a Dreaming Soul

Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you away from this world
So much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time
You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...
But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult

You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.
Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.
Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.

Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

MARCH MARCHES ON....

A quick stop before bed. Rp is in one of those ruts where there
are dangling sl threads all over the place and not enough folks
around to tie them up.

So naturally the Muse has gone into neutral gear as far as
writing goes.

I have posted more entries on the genealogy blog, though.

Daylight Savings Time. I have still have to somehow get my
watch reset but the spookiest thing is that my cellphone
reset itself.

In my pocket.

Sometime Friday night.

If THEY can do that without my knowing, what else can
THEY do?

I'm gonna go to bed and hide under the covers now.

THE NEW YEAR DAWNS-January SL Summary

The New Year began with a mix of the sedate and of the
tumultuous.

Kildrummy gave Lucent a late Mid Winter’s gift: a thirteen year
old fruitcake that Dhugal and Kildrummy had exchanged as a
Yule gift over the years. Interestingly enough, the Scotsmen had
given the fruitcake a name: Margaret. Somehow Lucent came to
believe that the rock hard baked gift was haunted.

A group of supporters for Edmond Zeagram arrived from the
town of Briarwater to plead his case in regards to his attack on
Squire Lucent. Among these were Emund’s wife Mable, their son
Eicheard and One-Eyed Bernie, a retainer.

Mace Daniels, Bayla Vin and Palmer cast a new ward within
Palmer’s office.

Alaena spoke with Captain Morgan about booking passage aboard
his ship to Spain for herself, her horse, and her wagon of goods.
That same evening Tyralor and Amaris came into the firehall Tyralor
was carrying a small jade monkey figurine and his voice was high
and shrill, punishment from a pixie whose voice he had mocked.
But when others touched the figurine they too were affected.
One of Palmer’s feet was stuck to the floor, Amaris itched all over,
Quincy changed into a dog and Lucent into a monkey. Kildrummy
tried to evade being touched by the figurine but failed and shrank
down into a dust mote that was inhaled by the Quincy/dog. But all
returned to normal after the dog bit off the jade monkey’s head and
Quincy sneezed Kildrummy out of her nose.

Tyralor saw Quincy with the stray kitty who hangs about the firehall
and offered to teach Quincy how to play a poker game that used cats
as wagers.

Edmond Zeagram was finally brought to trial. Lord Corwin presided
as Judge while Ian Blackthorn acted as prosecutor and Mable
Zeagram spoke in her husband’s defense. Zeagram surprised the
courtroom by entering a guilty plea, but Blackthorn presented the
case in full so as to counter any claims of a miscarriage of justice.
He called Tyralor, Palmer and Lucent himself to give their account
of the incident and then Zeagram himself to get the confession on
record.Despite various protests and points of order from Tyralor,
the trial eventually came to a conclusion and Corwin listened to
pleas for leniency. He sentenced Zeagram to time served and
banned him from the city for life. Zeagram and his family left for
Briarwater the next day.

Lady Marty invited Yandora and Master Robinton to dinner at her
Lakeside Castle but she had other unexpected guests as well that
eve as Tyralor and Amaris showed up. The evening was a success
however since no one died. Yandora later extended an invitation
to Marty to visit her at the Mystic Tapestries Shoppe.

Najitha returned from the North with Nautchiq. Time had passed
differently in the North while he battled the Beast and both the
Inuit were grown and had a child. The couple was happily reunited
with their old friends Kalaris and Bayla Vin.

Palmer and Bayla dealt with a rampaging Bookus but eventually
Mace took the voracious volume to the Mage Academy.

Quincy gave Lucent a bit of a pep talk about his studies.

Kalaris discovered Tyralor repairing a leaky pipe under the bar. He
asked if he might study one of the spare limiters like the one
she’d made for Bayla and surprisingly she agreed.

Much more serious matters were taking place in the caverns below
Camelot as the fire salamander made his way closer to the dwarven
community of Camelot Below. The dwarves’ leader Hugin sent word
to Blackthorn and made plans to intercept the salamander but Brynt
the boggan learned of them and set a trap of his own. Blackthorn’s
party included Mace Daniels, Captain Morgan, Bayla Vin, Palmer,
Lord Corwin and the warrior women Chrystal and Imari and was
supposed to rendezvous with Hugin’s dwarves. Instead Brynt laid
a false trail of signs and boggans ambushed the group. The party
was able to soundly defeat the attackers but by the time they had
reached the rendezvous point they could only watch as Hugin
sacrificed himself to lure the fire salamander into a permanent prison.

Hugin’s death left the dwarves leaderless until they elected one of
Hugin’s protégées, Svarti, as his successor. Brynt survived the
consequences of his failed plan by using trickery.

Quincy encountered Kalaris’ pinata-like toy and enjoyed whacking
the ball apart and then the items that fell out of it as well afterwards.

Corwin and Ian discussed Delroy as a candidate for Squire studies.

Asherah offered Palmer the chance to accompany her to Byzantium
and Jerusalem.

Tyralor and Amaris’ investigation of strange events at Blaxley Manor
continued.

The question of the Wild Magic and surges of energy in the nodes
and ley lines around Camelot had been a matter of concern for some
time.Corwin was especially worried about the node that lay beneath
Camelot itself and after considerable study decided on a dangerous
plan that he must carry out alone. On the night he did so the ground
trembled and Ian was horrified when he lost the link he shared with
his brother. While Corwin’s human body was destroyed his memories
were not and a note he left Ian hinted that something in his office back
at the Mage Academy was needed if he was not able to find his way
home on his own.

Ian was not the only one devastated by Corwin’s disappearance. Mace
Daniels believed that once more she had lost someone because of
some curse on those she loved. She watched over Corwin’s children
back at Dragon Keep

Kalaris discovered a wisp of Corwin’s memory hovering near her and
gathered it and later others into glass bottles. She supplied bottles
for the others to use in the hunt.

Skye managed to stop Ian from going off to blindly search for Corwin’s
son Kylan whose presence was necessary to retrieve the item in
Corwin’s office. He began capturing with the help of his children bits
of memory that flitted about Blackthorn Manor and it was during one
such hunt that a shadow of a large dragon flowed over the courtyard,
even though there was no beast flying in the sky above.

Corwin’s brother Random told Ian and the others that Corwin’s dragon
form would indeed return but with no memory of his past. It was up to
them to help Corwin regain it. While capturing another of the fragments
in his office Ian saw a vision of what the object Corwin left at the Mage
Academy might be.

At Ian’s request, Kalaris set out to find Kylan and bring him back to
Camelot.

TomTom drew a portrait of Ephanie and gave it to her when she asked
if she might show it to her father the MerKing.

Tyralor and Calandra pondered the whereabouts of Art the Cat and
considered Cecily’s offer to "educate" him.

The young woman called Wolfy continued to observe the citizens of
the firehall and began to interact with them as she gained confidence.

Two newcomers named Jerris and Fernan Alvar arrived in Camelot
but what their purpose if their visits might be were yet unknown.

Others faced new dilemmas of their own. The Mage Tobias once more
faced an attack from the Chaos Storm.

Kyrie fell into as deep sleep and her dreams transformed her younger
twins Ian and Ashleah. Keavie helped change them back and took
charge of Kyrie’s care as well as the children during the absence of
their father Kimpo. Captain Morgan loaned her the use of a crystal
goblet that was said to be efficacious in curing ailments caused by
magic or poisoning.

In what seemed an innocent chance encounter Lucent met an enigmatic
young lady in the corridor outside the library who would have profound
effects on him and the lives of others within Camelot.

The old year and its problems were over.

But the New Year had already presented a new set of challenges for the
citizens of Camelot to meet and overcome.

LAZY BONES

Hmm...another lazy day.... sort of.

I did make a laundromat run so I guess I did do
something useful. :)

Spent a good part of the day climbing the family tree.
I used a month's free trial subscription to Ancestry and
found some stuff I didn't know about specifically the
WWI draft registry cards for both my grandfathers and
four of my granduncles. I'll blog more about that later.

I posted another The Wyld story the other night
and the only one of the three story ideas I mentioned a
week or so back that I haven't done is the next Dhugal
installment.Of course I still need to finish the Huw/Cador
thing as well now that I sent the first part.

So even though I didn't write today the pot is boiling. I''m
planning to revisit a place BT visited years ago for instance.

Other than that, life goes on.

MEET THE FOLKS

I'm currently scanning some of the older pics in two albums.
Back some twenty years ago we bought the type with the clear
plastic sheet that covers the photos thinking this would protect
them. Instead they recently began to discolor and fade. So at least
by scanning them and making several copies the chances of saving
them for the future are better.
This is my mom and dad on their wedding day. I know the look
on Dad's face as the one where he's about reached the end of his
patience but he's being polite. It's their wedding day and they're
posing for another dang picture instead of getting started on the
honeymoon!
I had to crop the left hand side some where the top left hand
corner was sort sort of eaten away. But on the other hand, I
never noticed the chalk writing on the wall behind them, or the
boarded up window or the open door before.
Oh, and this was taken in June, 1947.

WELL, BAH!

Note to self...never start the Norton Update when its close to bedtime.

To make matter worse, I though I'd post here while waiting and
got roped into transferring the blog into the new Google format.

Not that there's anything wrong with the new format, mind you
but I've been trying to keep this blog seperate from the
genealogy blog and having one on the old format and the other
on the new made it easier for me.

Ah well.

I got one new story done and I'm halfway through another.

I scanned some old photos tonight before attending the
channel event.

And I went to the laundromat this afternoon.

Exciting, eh?

Ah..Norton's done..

Goodnight.

LISTEN UP!!

Ah, a day off. Yesssssss!

I have three different stories kicking around my
brain:

1. Part 4 of the Dhugal/Kildrummy background.

2. A story about a nightmare BT has concerning the
present Corwin sl.

3. A Undercurrent sequence concerning Huw, Cador, and
Hubert the Shadowlord.

and there's a few more postings I have in mind for the
genealogy blog.

Other than that, the wolves got a bit closer but I'm still
ahead. For me at the moment the most worrisome thing
is how many of my friends are dealing with stuff I wish
they didn't have to deal with. So. ...

You're ALL on the Worry List. Stay in a double line
next to your Worry List buddy and move up and then off
as soon as things improve for you. As in..right away!

I have spoken..

Ya dang kids!

I got worries of my own, ya know. Any day now a big chunk
of ice from the restroom of a 747 is bound to fall on my head
and I need to be paying attention!

Sheesh.

ok..bed...

SUPER BLECCH

This will be short because I am not feeling too hot.
Seems like my body can't decide whether or not to
have the flu so I've had an ache in my gut off and on
the past two days.

Superbowl: Prince was the best thing about it.
And now that Manning's finally won one we'll get hit
with even more commercials with him in them.

Damn.

THOUGHTS BEFORE BED

The weird winter continues. We'll get a little snow tomorrow...
maybe..then back into the deep freeze.

Been a productive week, 7 posts to the genealogy blog
and today I reworked 6 short posts about Dhugal from the
BD board into 3 longer stories for a new series on the Camelot
list to explain Kildrummy's history.

I don't know what makes me shake my head more:the dimwits
who thought up their brilliant lightboard guerilla advertising
campaign, the idiots they hired to put them up, or the people
who criticize the Boston Police for taking the matter seriously.

Newflash, folks. It's a new world since 9/11. Bomb squads can't
afford to take things lightly. And we're a bit more sensitive on
terrorism up here since the two planes that crashed into the
WTC flew out of Boston and had many passengers on them
from the area.

Some folks need to use their common sense.

Ah well..bedtime.

ONE OF THOSE DAYS

From time to time, I have one of Those Days at Work:
Little Old Lady: Do you have the movie “Cabaret?”
Me: Let me look that up on the computer for you, ma’am.
LOL: The one with Liza Minelli…it was on WHDH two
weeks ago. Boy can she sing and dance.
Me: Yes ma’am
LOL: She’s better than her mother now. Judy Garland was
great but Liza’s better than her now.
Me: Yes ma’am. Oh, I’m sorry, we’ve sold out.
LOL: When?
Me: We sold out the last copy on Jan 20th.
LOL: What?? SEE?? Right after the television show on
WHDH! Why haven’t you ordered more in?
ME: Well, the computer at the home office hasn’t reordered
It for the store yet, but I’d be glad to order a copy in for
you.
LOL: Someone should tell the manager to tell the home office
to order that in RIGHT away. I know all about these big
companies. I worked all my life for NASa and they are one
of the biggest companies in the world.
Me: Yes ma’am. Do you want me to order that for you?
LOL: No I wanted it today. I have to hook up a DVD to my old
Machine…you know…
Me: The VHS
LOL: …no, the tape machine . Where else can I buy Cabaret?
Me: Let me check the sister stores in our district. No, sorry,
They are out as well.
LOL: Where else?
ME: Well, you can try Best Buy. The store is at the end of
the Plaza.
LOL: Call them for me.
Me: Er…We don’t have their number..
LOL: You can’t call them for a customer?

I call information.. then Best Buy. They don’t have it.

LOL: How about Noble’s. Didn’t this used to be a Noble’s?
ME: Yes, ma’am I can do that for you. No, ma’am, it’s
always been this company here
.

I called B&N. The salesperson laughs slightly. They do not
have it either. I suspect she’d already be there. Meanwhile
another customer who’s been watching all this for 29 minutes
now finds another of my co workers and tells her somebody
should help me escape from the LOL. None are brave enough
to throw themselves on the live grenade for me

LOL: Isn’t that something? It was on WHDH.!
Me: Yes ma’am
LOL: Do you sell DVD’s here?
ME: Yes ma’am. Right here in that section.
LOL: Not those! I need the machine to play them on!
Me: Well Walmart….
LOL: Where’s the nearest Walmart.?

There then followed a discussion on cds and dvds and what
They were and did not do. Finally, after a half hour total and
25 minutes into my lunch break I was able to get away.

She spent another 25 minutes lecturing a cashier.
I stayed in the back and ate lunch.

I have a headache.

BIG CHILL

Brr..5 degrees out and will chill below zero. Man, I hate
winter.

Finished Wyld13 and then Wyld14. Also the posts to the
genealogy blog memories of the trips uphome to Maine
as a kid to visit Dad's relatives.

But right now, I'm crawling under blankets where it's
warm.

THE COLLANDER OF MY MIND

Hmm..I really meant to be in bed right now but even after I went
offline for the night the Muse wouldn't let me be. I wrote a bit
longer and now have 800+ words done of Wyld13, although this
last bit was mainly transposing some of the rp from the other night.
I'm going to finish it off come daylight after I've slept a bit. If I keep
at it I might have another one or two things written before vacation
ends.

I've also redone and restated the genealogy blog I mentioned a while
back. Some of it's from posts on this blog and some of it's new.

It's at http://westinnewengland.blogspot.com/ for those who might
like to see it.

Other than that, I've finished off the pot o' pasta I cooked earlier in
the week and I got the laundry run done today. Food shopping was
yesterday. Now I hunker down inside and stay warm the next two
days as the temperatures plunge. Windchills will be below zero.

Anywho, off to bed.

Good night, my fettucine!

WINTER WHITE

Well, we got enough snow flurries tonight to coat the sidewalks and
lawns in white. It's been a strange winter. Very little snow so far,
which makes me worry about the spring. We had a April Fool's Day
Blizzard in April 1997 so we aren't out of the woods by a longshot
up here yet.

I had four vacation days left so I took them this week and as a
result I'm off until this coming Saturday. I fiddled around today,
writing a Wyld story in response to the current chann sl and then
downloaded the Personal Ancestry File Companion which lets you
make family tree charts. We'll see if its worth the dl tomorrow
when I get around to installing it.

And of course there's my Patriots loss to the Colts. Ah, the pain!
But if we had to lose to someone I'd rather it was the Colts, who
have class and showed respect to our team rather than losing
to the Chargers who spent a lot of time talking about how they
would beat us and very little time actually doing it.

So, other than that, nothing much to report.

DECEMBER RESOLUTIONS: December Sl Summary

As MidWinter and Yuletide neared the citizens of Camelot thankfully busied
themselves with the business of preparing for the holidays and decorating
the Firehall. Yet events away from town and castle were happening that
might hold significance for Camelot’s future.

Captain Morgan invited Veryl aboard his ship for a discussion and a deal
was made.

Hand was drawn back to Traveling Mountain by the presence of more
intruders who turned out to be Sister Khendra and Herion Lockshire.
During the battle in the Chamber Hand brushed up against a crystal and
was transported to Paris.

Two dwarves named Valorheart and Underburrow were trapped for a
time in a mine shaft but were able to dig their way out.

A scholar named Xavier witnessed the ability of a deformed young boy
to cleanse evil from a violent murderer’s soul.

Lord Beron of the Wyld encountered the spirit of Gwydion ap Don at the
rock formation known as Merlin’s Seat and learned that it was the key to
control ofThe Wyld.Beron was not tempted by the power he could gain
but the exchange was overheard by the boggan Brynt who saw a chance
to change the order of things.

And at Blaxley Estate Amaris arrived for a visit under the guise of being
the daughter of a wealthy merchant.

But within Camelot’s walls there was celebration as three Squires were
raised to the rank of Knight. Kylan, Cian and Lyrick were given the accolade
by the knights Morninglord, Corwin and Blackthorn in a combined ceremony.

As the holiday drew closer many of the citizens of Camelot hung ornaments
on the Yule tree in the Hall. Others made some rather interesting resolutions
for the approaching New Year.

Quincy Randall tried to deal with the demons of her past. She awoke one
night in her darkened booby trapped room and in a disoriented panic tried to
break out of the room she herself had barricaded. Luckily Bayla happened along
and helped her out.

Blackthorn noticed when the star-shaped mark around one of Sorcha’s eyes
glowed briefly before she fell asleep.

Mace Daniels took a position as an instructor at the Mage Academy. Ian
was rather puzzled by Bayla’s reaction to Mace and Corwin becoming closer.

Yandora and Robinton shared the news that they were expecting
their first child. This news was the cause of some confusion on Lucent’s part
that one might think a stablehand wouldn’t have about the facts of life.

Another part of Quincy’s past surfaced when a man named Antillious
accused her of blame in his kin’s death some ten years before and threatened
her life. An angry Blackthorn had the man escorted from Camelot but Quincy
later brought him back in order to show the man he was wrong about her. It
was herbrother who had actually committed the killing and she vowed to find
him. All of this prevented Quincy from journeying into The Wyld to speak with
a fae about granting her a wish.

Luckily for her Lord Beron came to Camelot to inform Blackthorn on
his encounter with Gwydion. Bayla pointed out the fae lord to the woman
and Quincy went over to speak with him. The encounter was marked by Beron
asking Quincy what she knew about her family background which was very
little since except for her brother all her kin that she knew of were dead. Oddly,
Beron seemed to think Palmer should have done something to help Quincy.
Eventually Quincy was able to whisper the wish of her heart to Beron, that she
be able to bear a child. Beron told her that the anger she carried inside would
heal when she learned to accept who and what she was and then her wish
would be granted. He also told her how to reach him when she wished to speak
with him again.

So the old year concluded quietly and mostly on a note of hope. There
were still dangers and trouble ahead, but Camelot would face them and do as
it always had.

It would endure.

NOVEMBER KNIGHTS:November SL Summary ...finally

November did not begin as the citizens of Camelot had thought it might have. The attack
by The House of Dreams did not materialize leaving some to speculate that perhaps
Lady Ahmi had not yet harnessed the power of Bran’s Cauldron. There had after all been
that report of a flash of light, a woman’s shriek and smoke sighted from within The Wyld
that might indicate a failure, but there were no other signs. Camelot was grateful for the
reprieve but would remain vigilant for when Ahmi did make her move.

Meanwhile, there was a Tournament and a Ball to be held and the city and castle

bustled with excitement and preparations. In the midst of this Mace Daniels surprised
Nobly with a beautiful new gown so that the assistant librarian could attend the Ball
in grand style and Quincy was pleased to learn that she and Kildrummy would compete
against each other in the arena.

The Tournament

The Fall Tournament began as Blackthorn yelled “HIT SOMETHING!” while watching

Bayla and Palmer compete with quarterstaves. It was a phrase that would be heard
often throughout the competitions. Not that extra encouragement was often needed
as this Fall’s Tourney was marked by either swift brutal victories or long brutal epic
battles.

The speculation over the identity of Tyralor’s Champion’s identity continued until the

day of the first match the Champion had with Bayla Vin in the swords category and
it was revealed to be an animated sparring dummy. Or was it? Whatever it was, it
was no match for Bayla and lost.

The Squires of Camelot showcased their weapons skills in their matches. Squire

Kylan defeated the Summer Tourney champion Sir Elhand the Green Knight in a
rematch of their swords category final. Lyrick surpassed her mentor Blackthorn
with the quarterstaves and Squire Cian won out in jousting over Sir Elasol.

Kildrummy the Highlander made quite a debut in his first tournament defeating

crowd favorite Sgt. Quincy Randall in swords. The match was as notable for
Kildrummy’s jibes and his use of his clan’s traditional war cry “DROOP THA’
SHEEP!” .The Scotsman moved up in the standings in both sword and staves
although it was in the latter category that he enjoyed the most success.

Among the more lopsided victories were Corwin’s over Mirari in swords, Bayla

over Lyrick in archery, Lucent over Kalaris in maces, Quincy over Bayla in
staves and Cian over Blackthorn in staves. In fact the Guardian soon cheerfully
found himself eliminated from all the competitions except jousting.

And then there were the epic battles, such as Veryl besting Kalaris in maces

17-16 and Squire Lucent over Mirari 14-11.

The mystery of Tyralor’s champion was solved during a match with Veryl when it

was revealed that the fighter was in fact a fighting rooster. Lord Corwin ruled the
rooster disqualified from the competition and Veryl the victor. But this was not the
end of the fowl play in the arena.

Aralina had been visiting Camelot of late and displayed animosity towards Tyralor

and Amaris which was perhaps fueled by suspicions over the fate of her sister
CrowWing. A confrontation in the library led to challenges being thrown about
(as Nobly the assistant librarian sought shelter in a closet.) In the end Aralina
challenged Quincy Randall but agreed to first face Tyralor’s Champion, unaware
that she would be facing a fighting cock. Amazingly the fowl was the victor on
points thus infuriating Aralina even more. She charged into the stands after
McDougal.

The unarmed Quincy moved to block the attack while Blackthorn rushed to fetch
weapon and shield for the guard. The fight moved back to the arena floor where

the two women went toe to toe. It was a bitter match and while Quincy eventually
won 16-13 she suffered several serious wounds and only intervention by the
onlookers stopped Aralina from continuing her attempt on Quincy’s life. Blackthorn
expressed his displeasure with her conduct and the woman left, still vowing to
settle affairs with McDougal and his friends at a future time.

When the dust settled and the uproar died down the rest of the combatants

resumed the tourney. There were a slew of well fought matches that were laced with
many inventive battle cries and taunts involving various animals such as sheep,
wombats, cats and were--squirrels. More close matches were the order of the day,
such as Elasol’s defeat of Squire Kylan in jousting, but then Kylan rebounded to
defeat Suiechi at swords. Mace Daniels won out over Squire Lyrick in swords and
Captain Rohan of DragonKeep advanced in the same category. As the end of the
tournament neared, the fighting became even more intense and several matches
resulted in classic confrontations Squires Lyrick and Lucent met with staves
and Lucent barely eked out a win, 15-14. Mace Daniels scored two savage hits

to take the match over Elasol 10-6 in maces. And in the finals match for staves,
Kildrummy and Lucent battled until the squire finally triumphed, 21-20 and won
the staves title.

Squire Cian defeated Blackthorn for the jousting title, Captain Rohan took the

honors in maces by defeating the aptly named Mace Daniels, and then added
archery as well by winning over Bayla Vin. In the finals for swords Lord Corwin
won not only the competition but the title of tournament champion as well.

The Tournament concluded with the Harvest Ball where Blackthorn announced

the winners and awarded them their prizes. All agreed it had been a memorable
and enjoyable event.

**************************************************

But there were other dramas occurring in Camelot besides those on the arena

sands.

A letter was delivered to Squire Lucent from his uncle Edmund Zeagram demanding

he return home to work at the family business. Since he’d been cut loose from the
family two years earlier to make his own way in the world, Lucent felt no desire to
return home and sent a reply stating he was now a Squire and would remain at
Camelot.

Mistakenly believing that she’d badly injured Lucent in their tourney meeting,

Lyrick left Camelot but eventually returned with Dame Kyrie.

An enraged Uncle Edmond traveled to Camelot with the intention of forcing

Lucent to return home. The two relatives met in the garden where Lucent was
shoveling snow off the garden path, and when he once more refused to leave
Camelot a furious Edmund grabbed the shovel and beat the Squire senseless.
Only the arrival and intervention of Tyralor prevented a tragic outcome. By the
time Ian Blackthorn and his guards arrived Zeagram was writhing on the ground
in pain while Lucent lay bloodied and unconscious in the snow. Zeagram was
thrown In the dungeon while Lucent was rushed to the infirmary to be treated
by Palmer.

The incident unleashed a tide of emotion among various citizens, Kyrie was

rightly angered by the attack on her squire. Blackthorn was concerned that an
incident like this might encourage other fools to emulate Edmund’s actions
within the walls of Camelot. Teglo was upset and worried over her young friend.
There was also a heated debate as to how to deal out punishment for the
crime as at first Lucent was reluctant to press charges against his uncle.

Eventually he was swayed by the reasons he should not let Edmund avoid
answering for his deeds and a trial was scheduled

Blackthorn struck a bargain with Delroy. The young noble would work a

month as a page and if he conducted himself well, he would be taken on as
a squire by a knight of Camelot. Delroy later wrote a letter home to his
former tutor about his new life at Camelot.

Sa’Gruund watched in horror as Hand dispatched two dwarves who’d
discovered the Traveling Chamber.

Quincy had a somewhat surprising reaction to her first encounter with Elki
the pillywiggen.

A seafarer named Captain Morgan arrived in Camelot.

The usually sharp-tongued Cecily seemed subdued by some sort of illness
and being Cecily denied that she was sick.

Palmer began the process of healing Sorcha and found himself busy with
all the injuries that occurred during the Tournament as well. Among the
more extended stays was Kildrummy who while being helped to the infirmary
by Quincy after a beating from Lucent, planted a kiss on the guard’s cheek.

Kalaris found herself suddenly married by decree of the ruler of her native land
and asked Bayla to handle the negotiations to obtain the divorce from her
unwanted husband.

Camelot had survived Samhain and now made ready to celebrate the MidWinter

GAME OVER

Ok, folks. Here's the thing.

It's been about two years since Things Changed and about a year
and a half since the Bovine Excrement Done Really Hit The Fan.
Things had pretty much finally settled down until last April when
the other channel suddenly appeared on Sorcery and things started
up again. There was the usual /msg to an rp and the dig in the blog
which admitedly got the desired response when I fired back.

Things quieted down again. Camelot had a fairly good year of rp and
we were content to do as we had done and have fun playing in our
channel and build up storylines.

Then recently it started up again. Accusations of powergaming. Tries
at recruiting rps away to the other channel. More digs in the blog.

I don't understand the point of it or the reason. As long as this keeps
up it serves only to stir up the anger. Maybe that is the point, I don't
know.

Anyway, I'd fallen asleep at the kb tonight and signed off mirc, then
decided to make the blog rounds before I turned off Elaine. And yeah,
there's another one of those pokes. I turned off the comp to get ready
for bed, and then realized I'd think about this before sleeping. I didn't
feel like doing it, so here I am back to get it out of my system once and
all.

Go ahead and play your game. Maybe you will actually manage to get
some rp into it as well. I'm sure you'll continue to do what you've
been doing and I'll hear about it.

It doesn't matter, I'm not wasting any more of my time on this in this
blog. Why? Because it's Pretty Irrelevant, That's All.

You can play with yourself now because I'm not interested in your
game.

Game Over.

YAWWWWWWWWWWWN!

Been a long lazy day. Worked on the next part of Wyld(#11) and
finally posted to the list tonight, the first story of the new year under
my belt.

Took a run to the grocery and got the food shopping out of the way
so I can concentrate on rp and writing and then football on Sunday.
Both work and rp have hit that post holiday lull but there's not much
I can do about the work part unless customers walk through the door.

I also have to get my floppies converted over to CD or DVD and switch
the genealogy files from CD-R to CD+RW so I can add to it.

And lastly, I still have to catch up with the November and December
sl posts.

Man, I'm tired thinking about all of that!

ONE MORE PIC

This is my mom's mom, my grandmother Agnes McFarland White,
known to us kids as "Nannie". This is her Confirmation or school
graduation phto I think, so it's from sometime between 1912
and 1920.

She died in 1956, having had a bad heart from a bout with
rheuamatic fever as a child.

MORE FAMILY:MY GREAT GREAT GRANDPARENTS

These are my great great grandparents Jonathan Phelps West and
Louisa Almata Richardson West. The darkhaired boy is my grandad
Floyd E. West Sr. and the fair haired boy my granduncle Clarence.

Grandpa West was born in 1893 so this must have been taken some
time between 1899 and 1903, judging from the size of the boys.

ENOUGH ALREADY, PLEASE.

Man, I thought this foolishness was over. And I am not
going to vent any anger over this. I will point out that back
at the original split, the sl of a certain other channel decided
the inhabitants of our Camelot had mysteriously deserted
the realm and BT was accused in rp of being responsible for the
death of another.Since it had also been decided that we were not
to be even mentioned in the rp of the other channels, an explanation
seemed in order as to what had happened to those other places in the
rp of our Camelot. A magical disaster seemed a good one given that it
had already occurred in the previoius rp. Anyone could rp in both
places as long as the plotlines were kept seperate. Anyone who had
been "lost in the Wastelands" could return to Camelot and rp
without penalty.

Well, almost anyone. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that.

There was no Powergaming involved on our part, just an attempt to
move on with rp. I've never intruded on the rp in the other channel.
I've not engaged in any rp that disrespected the principal char of the
channel, nor actively attempted to recruit chars away from the other
place, which has not been the case as far as the other channel is
concerned.

Now the other channel is changing the direction of their roleplay.
Fine, but it has nothing to do with our channel. We do not allow time
traveling spaceships so any intent to have them fly over the castle
will be treated as they would be from any other roleplayer. They'll be
ignored. The Wasteland mist will remain, and we'll continue on as we
have for the past two years now.

Please, just move on. Godspeed. And do as we are doing and
have fun.

My Dad's Family

This was taken up in Milan NH back in the late 1950's to early
1960's.

Only Aunt Dot is still with us today. Grandma was not present at the
family event.
