February got off on a rather discordant note while Ian struggled to
come to grip with the occupation of The Hook by enemy forces.
The discord came when Darien Silverleaf and Sechula brought
another Deylarosta, Deathfeather to Camelot, and Bayla reacted
in a less than enthusiastic manner.
A few days later a familiar figure returned to Camelot in the person
of Mace Daniels who offered her help in fighting the demonic forces
which Ian was glad to accept
.
Meanwhile, Mixik had begun handing out a tarot card to several
people. Ian’s card was Judgment. Mixik said he’d found them in
Merlin’s Tower, but as to why they were given out and their meaning.
no one yet knows.
A most unusual messenger, a swan, flew into the Firehall bearing
word from Glofin and Queen Sarah that trouble in their own land
prevented them from being to come to Camelot’s aid for the
foreseeable future.
Pounding from inside the iron doors in the courtyard that lead to the
tunnels below was caused by dwarves seeking aid in holding off an
invading mercenary forces below the castle. Morninglord led a force
consisting of Kyrie, Mace, Mixik, Bayla, Palmer, Nobly and Lucent
to help the dwarves and defeated the intruders.
Nobly had come to Camelot in search of what she thinks is a spy.
Her attempt to search Bayla’s library office led to a tense standoff
with Bayla and a very messy office as well.
Palmer stole several scrolls from Merlin’s Tower and delivered them
to an unknown party.
Mina Nightbane, daughter to Lady Adrienne, arrived in Camelot
for a visit
Mixik’s surveillance of Mistress Nobly led to the revelation of her
true origins in The Hook and then to an explanation of the "birds n’bees"
from Bayla to Mixik. BT offered Nobly a job at the castle to help her leave
her former life behind.
A new mystery arose when the minstrel Jarod wandered into Camelot
with clairvoyant visions and a mysterious lyre.
Arista Blackthorn wrote a letter to her betrothed ,Squire Kyllan, about
deciding their future.
On a night when Tyralor had taken to floating about near the firehall
ceiling, he was surprised by the arrival of his former wife, Quincy Randall.
Disheveled, dirty, and smelling most foul, Quincy had no memory of how
she had come to be in Camelot. Blackthorn had her fed, bathed and clothed
and eventually gave her a place in the Guards.
Maylon’s curiosity and an unwise request to Tyralor lead to the
Frenchwoman and Mixik floating about on the ceiling for several days
until they were released by Tyralor and Morninglord.
The stalemate with the mercenaries was shattered suddenly by a
series of attacks down by the docks. Hearing that there was a group
of refugees trapped in The Trade House, Ian and Morninglord led
a number of volunteers to their rescue. Among them were Lysk,
Jarod, Bayla, Kalaris, Najitha, Tomtom, Sechula, Darien Silverleaf,
and Stormchaser. Tomtom’s drumming helped trapped troops
find their way to safety but he suffered an arrow wound to his leg.
Jarod was stunned to realize he’d drawn scenes from the battle
days before they happened. Bayla helped Najitha fend off an attack
but then disappeared as the others realized the Trade House had been
a trap. They fought their way clear and out of The Hook just before
it was sealed off from inside. It was a few minutes before anyone
realized Bayla and Stormchaser were left behind.
Bayla was thought dead for several days . Dead bodies were
thrown over the wall from within The Hook and one night a
comatose Bayla was found among them. As yet he has not regained
consciousness enough to tell what had happened to him.
A merchant reported his wife had been kidnapped. Madoc and
Brynn who’d done the deed found they had a tiger by the tail.
The days following the battle are grim ones. Jarod and Tomtom
struggle wit the effects the events had on them. Tomas attempts
to breach the domelike barrier and is injured. And Ian broods over
the lives lost in the struggler so much so that he loses his usual
restraint in dealing with Tyralor and threatens to hang the half-elf
by his scrawny neck.
Yet even in these dark times more new travelers arrive in
Camelot: Lady Angelica; Ioseph; Deturah; and the priestess
Synna And Quincy is unexpectedly reunited with her friends
Biske and Milia the Paladin.
Now Camelot waits. When will this dark winter give way to
the Light?.
